Wendy Bartkus, MS
Biography
Wendy Jo Bartkus, MS, received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with a Specialization in Addictions from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia. Ms. Bartkus has worked with both adolescent and adult populations at the partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment levels of care for addictions. Her work experience includes developing and implementing treatment programs, directing outpatient treatment facilities, and providing prevention programs for students and adults of all ages. She served as 2002 President of the Lehigh Valley Psychological Association and is currently the secretary for the organization. Ms. Bartkus is an adjunct lecturer at Alvernia College, Penn State University, Northampton County Community College, and East Stroudsburg University and is a certified B.A.S.I.C.S. (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students) trainer. From 2002 to 2006, she was the Alcohol and Other Drug Specialist at Kutztown University. Currently, in addition to teaching, Ms. Bartkus is a part-time psychotherapist/play therapist for the Florence Child Guidance Center. She is also a psychoeducational consultant. In 2006, she was awarded an "Unsung Hero Award" from teh Caron Foundation for her work in the addiction field with college students.
